Owen Sound - April 12, 2010 - Using Skype and video technology, SailorJones Media President & Executive Producer Barbara Jones conducted a lecture on emerging media today with graduate students at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
Students' questions during the 90 minute class focused on Jones' career path since graduation from the same Television/Radio/Film program, and her observations regarding the evolution of media during the past 20 years.
Lead by Professor Larry Elin, lecture participants were also interested in SailorJones Media's social media project, reDOT.tv.
reDOT.tv is a network of internet television sites targeting niche communities of interest, combining both professional and user-generated content.
The Newhouse School and SailorJones Media are now exploring ways in which Syracuse University and its multi-faceted media students might work together on virtual content initiatives.
